Over 55,000 Tourists Visit Khumbu Region in 11 Months

Solukhumbu: The Khumbu region has welcomed a total of 55,979 tourists in the past 11 months of the current fiscal year, according to the Sagarmatha National Park.

Information Officer Manoj Kumar Mandal reported that the majority of these visitors were foreign tourists, numbering 48,402, while domestic tourists accounted for 7,577.

The peak tourist influx occurred in the month of Baisakh, which is the prime tourist season. In contrast, the month of Saun saw the lowest number of visitors due to adverse weather conditions, Mandal noted.

Additionally, the Park has generated Rs 136 million in revenue over the past 11 months. Entrance fees are set at Rs 100 for Nepali citizens, Rs 1,500 for visitors from SAARC countries, and Rs 3,000 for other international tourists.
